Ideal candidate will have at least two years of Medical Assistant experience. Prefer Medical Assistants with gastrointestinal experience in a hospital clinical setting; medical terminology is a plus.Shift: 8am - 4:30pm (based on business need occasional remote opportunity)Key FunctionsAssists with patient examinations, treatments and procedures. Prepares / stocks rooms and escorts patients to rooms. Obtains vital signs and prepares patients for physician's care. Documents in the medical record patient care entries and completed lab work. Reviews and sorts incoming lab results and forwards reports for review. Collects laboratory specimens and performs waived laboratory testing (such as finger stick glucose and EKG tests). Provides transportation of patients for discharge or transfer to other areas in the hospital. Must position, lift and move patients as needed. Cleans, stores, prepares and coordinates maintenance of medical equipment. Maintains inventories of laboratory and medical supplies. Processes all required paperwork. Instructs patients as to test preparations according to planned procedure.Other duties as assignedEDUCATIONRequired: High school diploma/equivalent.Preferred: Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or US Military medical services training program.EXPERIENCERequired: One year of medical assistant experience. With preferred degree, no experience is required.Preferred: Two years of medical assistant experience.
