Job Title: Piping DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Piping Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in 3D piping modeling software with experience in high energy and process piping designs. The role involves generating and maintaining piping layouts, collaborating with various engineering teams, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and industry standards.Responsibilities

Perform piping designs for high energy and process piping according to relevant codes and standards.

Proficiently use 3D piping modeling software such as PDS, PDMS, and SmartPLANT 3D (SP3D).

Conduct pipe routing on high temperature systems, considering space constraints, stress analysis requirements, accessibility, and maintenance.

Interpret and mark-up Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).

Generate and maintain piping layouts, isometrics, and general arrangement drawings.

Collaborate with process, mechanical, and structural teams to integrate piping designs.

Support model reviews, clash detection, and resolution using SmartPLANT Review and Freeview.

Select appropriate piping materials, valves, and fittings as per project specifications.

Prepare and review piping drawings, isometrics, and bill of materials (BOM).

Ensure designs adhere to safety regulations, client standards, and industry best practices.

Work with project teams to implement constructability and maintainability improvements.

Deliver engineering outputs within project schedules to meet deadlines.

Perform other duties as assigned by senior design team members.

Develop processes and procedures to optimize resources and enhance design quality.

Strive for continuous improvement in piping system designs to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Protect company confidential information and maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity.

Effectively manage multiple tasks and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrate a willingness to learn new software, tools, and industry trends.

Essential Skills

3-5 years of experience in Piping Design.

Proficiency in 3D piping modeling software such as PDS, PDMS, Autopipe, or SP3D.

Ability to interpret and mark-up Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).

Experience in generating and maintaining piping layouts, isometrics, and general arrangement drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate Degree or Diploma in Piping Design or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience in piping, plant layout, or industrial projects.

Familiarity with ASME B31.3, ANSI, API, and ASTM standards for piping systems.

Field experience is desirable but not required.

Work EnvironmentYou will be part of a small engineering team of six, working in an engineering office. Standard working hours are from 8-5 or 9-6, with the flexibility to work extended hours or start early. Our company specializes in gas turbine engineering for power plants and steam turbine businesses.
