The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.Manage and coordinate all aspects of the Division of Radiation Oncology Medical Education and Research Training Programs, including the Postbaccalaureate Training Program, Summer Experience Research Programs, UT Medical Student Elective Program, UH College of Medicine Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC), UH Biomedical Certificate Graduate Student Program, Core Medical Student Research Training, Visitors Programs (Observers, Visiting Scientists), and new programs.JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESProgram Management Works independently to coordinate the recruitment and application processing for Radiation Oncology's research training and clinical rotation programs, including the Medical Student Elective Program (MSEP), the UH Longitudinal Clerkship (LIC) program, the UH Biomedical Graduate Certificate Program, MS Core Research, the Postbacc Program, Summer Experience Programs, Visiting Scientist Program, as well as new programs and adhere to AAMC and institutional requirements. Manages medical student application and selection process and manages the administration of applications for incoming medical students and graduate students, resident and fellow rotators, and visitors (observers, Visiting Scientists), including appointments, orientation, information technology access, and separation/clearance or reappointment. Coordinates the development, dissemination, and monitoring of rotations, didactics, and meetings. Provides input in the development, coordination and distribution of lecture schedules and assists with the preparation of teaching material. Match and manage the rotation evaluations and program evaluations. Offers guidance to medical students in the program and GME policies. Composes correspondence and generates reports for the RO Director of Education, the Program Directors, the Medical Student Site Directors, and/or the Division Head. Liaison and division representative for UT McGovern Medical School, UH Med School, UH Department of Biology, GME, and Research Training Programs. Maintains current and thorough working knowledge of AAMC goals, policies and procedures that impact the program.Resource Management Maintains databases with medical student, research trainee, and faculty data, including New Innovations and Slate. Coordinates, tracks and maintain reports for clinical and research rotations. Creates and routinely updates the medical student catalog (UT), RO medical student website pages, orientation guides, resource rescue (continuity) documents. Develops, implements, and manages the orientation program for medical students and research trainees. Creates and implements best practices to ensure optimized level of productivity and efficiency. Maintains the policies and procedures applicable to Division of Radiation Oncology's Medical Student Programming. Ensures the RO training activities are compliant with all national, state and local standards, as well as institutional policies. Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations associated with and/or receiving benefit from program.Financial Management Manages and tracks the budget for medical student programming. Gathers financial data for reporting. Monitors medical student program allocations.Support for Radiation Oncology Education Administration and New Training Initiatives: Independently provides administrative support for the Division of Radiation Oncology's education and training initiatives, including, but not limited to improvements to Research Training, Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Medical Education programs, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) activities. Work closely with the Program Manager, Director of Education, and Program Directors to operationalize new programs and/or new initiatives. Prepares meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and schedules regular meetings for program administration; Develops, improves, implements, and maintains assessment tools in New Innovations and Qualtrics; Assists with managing RO's presence at medical school job fairs and represent the programs at institutional and external events, relevant meetings/ conferences as the spokesperson for the programs; Attends meetings on behalf of the Program Directors and Director of RO Education and communicates relevant changes and timelines; Manages contractual and education agreements through Legal Services and serves as liaison between radiation oncology, Legal, and outside entities.Other duties as assignedEducation: Bachelor's degree in a related field.Preferred Education: Master's Level DegreeCertification: NonePreferred Certification: NoneExperience: Five years of related professional experience.
