Here at Kuehne+Nagel , our Houston is looking for a new Project Logistics Control Tower Team Leader to join our Project Logistics team.Your RoleAdditional focal point for all Project Logistics Control Tower processes and systems (primarily OGS). Alongside this to be a link to National Project Logistics Operations and Technology management providing the on-going gathering, organizing and description of Project Logistics requirements for National clients on the OGS software and the surrounding systems. Ensure that standard processes are followed throughout the country allowing for and being the driving force for centralization of tasks so as to ensure improved data quality and efficiencies.
Support client implementations or solely lead those when necessary.
They must understand the scope of work, how to organize the transport through a local carrier or via the respective chartering desk, communicate with Transport Engineering. Build and maintain a strong relationship with suppliers (e.g. carriers). Ensure HSE is at the forefront of all work.Your Responsibilities
Work proactively with the Project Logisticsusers and provide them with up-to-date operational system knowledge andsupport.
Disseminate knowledge to both internal andexternal user base about new OGS functionality.
Provide training for new internal and externalusers.
Supportand implement the usage of Project Logistics IT solution (OGS) with customers inorder to increase customer satisfaction and internal productivity
Identify and outsource time-consuming tasksand operations to KN GS (Service Centers)
Proposeprocess and system improvements to the national Project Logistics management.
Pro-active engagement with hubs, charteringdesks, transport engineering, business unit and suppliers. Utilize the
PricingCentre to provide rates for project requirements
Ensureoperational performance for 3rd party suppliers (including HSE compliance)meets KPI's required
Monitoring and providing visibility of dataquality to operational management and ensure DQ targets are set and met.
Responsible for monitoring and achievement ofproductivity KPIs
Identifyindividual/team strengths/weakness and either build on them or find solutionsin order to improve.
Your Skills and Experiences
Levelof Experience: Junior(2-4 years)
Anindividual with a high level of attention to detail, knowledge of specialcargo, planning, time management and adesire to succeed and provide excellent service. The ability to work underpressure and remain calm as well as problem solving and supplier managementskills are required.
