Job Descriptions:The Quality Associate works both independently as well as collaboratively with Quality Division team members to support and maintain the HFSC quality management system. This individual will be involved in the blind quality control (QC) program at HFSC, focusing on the creation, implementation, and monitoring of blind tests. This position will also serve as a support function within the quality assurance (QA) component of the Quality Division. Responsibilities may include assisting in internal audits, administering proficiency testing, and performing various administrative tasks for the Quality Division. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare blind QC case samples for all sections and maintain relevant documentation
Research real case information in the Laboratory Management Information System (LIMS)
Design case scenarios/case information for blind QC cases
Enter and submit blind QC cases into the workflows of participating sections
Communicate and collaborate with HFSC's operations and support divisions
Assist with internal audits and other important QA tasks
Assist with administrative tasks that may include the upload of Quality reports to e-discovery sites, case records and scanning of blind QC data
Assist in other duties as assigned by the Quality Director
Required Experience:Experience
Previous experience in a forensic lab environment is strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrated ability to work in a challenging and dynamic work environment
Demonstrated skills in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing work assignments
Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
Working knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus.
Education, Training & Certifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a related Physical Science (Biology, Chemistry, Forensic Science), etc. is required. A degree in another field may be considered if the applicant has forensic background experience.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
