Position Summary:Oversees drafting of contracts and Nabors responses to customer contract forms in accordance with Nabors Contract Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions and legal requirements. Lead role in assisting lower-level Contract Managers and Administrators, including balancing the allocation of drafting and review tasks. Leads negotiations and drafts complex contracts, including master drilling contracts.Duties & Responsibilities:
Reviews and oversees responses to: (1) customer proposed contracts and amendments; and (2) contracts and amendments drafted by department team members to verify accuracy and compliance with Company Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions.
Leads contract negotiations and discussions with customers on complex contracts, including master contracts, and contracts with nationally-owned companies.
Participates in gate reviews to inform and brief Senior Leadership on contracts with terms or financial commitments deviating from Company Procedures by highlighting risk exposures and recommends potential contractual solutions.
Drafts and reviews customer proposed contracts and amendments against Company Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions.
Drafts and reviews Nabors proposed contracts and amendments against Company Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions.
Reviews responses from customers with the objective of negotiating an acceptable agreement that is in compliance with Company Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions.
Responds to internal and external customer inquiries related to contractual issues, such as payment obligations, tax considerations, and operational responsibilities.
Advises on tactical contractual approaches for settlement of claims with customers.
Completes commercial and legal summary descriptions to reflect the deal structures to coordinate automated approvals by Senior Management.
Cultivates and builds relationships with both internal stakeholders and customers to assist reaching agreement on contractual issues and disputes.
Works closely with Sales, Operations, and across the support functions to provide coordinated contracts support for all transactions across the Latin American region
Experience:
Five years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis
Three or more years' experience in contracts administration for a major drilling company
Knowledge of drilling contract language (IADC and Major Operator)
Knowledge of operator’s tendering and contracting procedures and contract provisions
Background with oilfield equipment and downhole tools
Understanding of contract management and invoicing per contract requirements
Education and Training:
Degree in Accounting, Finance or Law
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Project
Strong knowledge of Oracle
