Senior Cost Accountant

Description Well-established manufacturing company located in East Houston is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Manufacturing Cost Accountant with experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including FIFO inventory and weighted average cost methods. Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

Maintain accurate costing records and perform regular cost audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Calculate and analyze inventory costs using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and weighted average cost methods.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost control measures and process improvements.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to manufacturing costs, including variance analysis and forecasting.

Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support business planning and decision-making.

Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Requirements

Senior Cost Accountant Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2+ years of recent experience in manufacturing cost accounting.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.

Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work tasks.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
