Senior ExpeditorSeeking a Senior Expeditor for an immediate 1+ year contract opportunity with a multi-national National Gas company in Downtown Houston, TX.OVERVIEW:The Senior Expeditor is responsible for monitoring Suppliers' progress on material PO’s (purchase orders) and RO’s (release orders), facilitating and communicating material movement and deliveries, and ensuring responsible parties have physically and electronically received materials and documentation required to make payment to Suppliers and allowing the Buyer to close out the PO’s and RO’s.The Senior Expeditor also manages the PO’s / RO’s, aside from formal revisions, from the time the Buyer receives the Supplier's acknowledgement until the Senior Expeditor informs the Buyer that all line items have been received. This position regularly interfaces with Material Suppliers, the Business Unit Clients, Engineering Service Providers, Customs, Freight, and the Buyer.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Display deep knowledge of manufacturing or assembling process of procured material or equipment with more complex engineered items.

Obtain the Supplier's planned schedule and monitor Supplier's actual progress and key milestones; update and periodically distribute the MSR (material status report) to the Business Unit client.

Monitor Sub-Supplier progress if required for milestone payment purposes.

Periodically obtain verification from the Business Unit Client on the material ROS (required on site) date.

Confirm the Supplier's RTS (ready to ship) date when the Supplier nears order completion, and update the MSR.

Compare the ROS and RTS dates, and estimated transportation time, to ensure meeting the Business Unit Client's schedule.

Address unforeseen changes and impacts from both the Supplier and Business Unit Client perspectives.

Obtain a recovery plan from the Supplier for forecast late delivery and facilitate a multi-stakeholder meeting to develop solutions / resolution.

Liaise with Freight team to develop specific transportation plan and notify employer and/or third-party personnel as to the expected delivery date, freight provider, and relevant shipment details, including requirement for specialized unloading equipment as per Supplier recommendations.

Ensure employer or third-party personnel responsible for physical receiving have issued an MRR (material receiving report) without any OS&D (overage, shortage, or damage) items for internal personnel to electronically receive goods to enable Supplier payment.

If OS&D occurs, work with Supplier and employer or third-party personnel to resolve the issue.

Decision Making: Makes decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex issues, including those without formal guidelines or precedents. Exercises resourcefulness and ingenuity to interpret policy.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 5 years of recent, relevant experience

Associates Degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline

Prior career experience within the Oil & Gas industry desired

Knowledgeable in manufacturing or assembling process of procured material or equipment

Resourceful and strong self-starter with an ability to drive results (with minimal supervision)

Strategic decision making and problem-solving skills

This is a 1+ year contract opportunity with the opportunity to extend and/or become permanent.Hours: Full-time 40 hour a week position, Monday—Friday.
