Senior Payroll Administrator/Payroll Accountant

Description We are offering an enticing long term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Payroll Administrator/Accountant in Houston, Texas. The chosen candidate will be joining our client in the oil and gas exploration and production industry. This role involves processing high volume payroll, managing journal entries, and conducting account reconciliations.Responsibilities Process a high volume of payroll transactions in an accurate and timely manner. Post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded. Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Execute payroll general ledger reconciliations. Set up election and benefit information in PeopleSoft for internal employees. Perform detailed payroll analysis to ensure accuracy and adherence to processes. Handle other duties and undertake ad hoc projects as they arise. Utilize your skills in account analysis to monitor, manage, and resolve customer inquiries. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.Requirements A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in payroll and general accounting. Proficiency in account analysis and account reconciliation. Demonstrable knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations. Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel. Exceptional numerical skills and attention to detail. Strong problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
