MISSION STATEMENTThe mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.SUMMARYAdministratively supervises, plans and coordinates a clinical advanced practice provider (APP) team for a designated area.JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESMonthly Clinical Research Meeting: Facilitating monthly clinical research meetings for general Lymphoma/Myeloma faculty is a key component of this position.Ensure a balanced distribution of workloads including adequate time in their office to complete job tasks associated with the clinical research.Ensure adequate time for APP Research to attend committee meetings they have been selected to serve on.Review/Approval of time off requests for Lymphoma/Myeloma APP Research personnel.Assist APP Research personnel with developing professional goals and completion of annual evaluations for the general Lymphoma/Myeloma APP Research.Monitor the progress of attaining these goals although this responsibility can be shared with other senior APP Research who will share in mentoring of new incoming APP Research.Assist Faculty and Manager with APP Research recruitment efforts.Oversees mentoring, development of new APP Research hires in the department and the workload of all APP Research personnel.Onboarding of new APP Research. Credentialing and Re-credentialing Supervisor will work with an assigned administrative assistant to oversee the completion of APP Research credentialing/re-credentialing documentation including all relevant forms and licenses.Management of Travel Documentation. This includes utilization of Concur and other resources (i.e. approval of leave requests) used for travel arrangements and approvals which will be entered by the administrative assistant.APP Supervisor will work with the assigned administrative assistant for assistance with the creation of the agenda, scheduling of the meeting room, communicating with some invited speakers, and assistance with the meeting minutes.Attend the institutional APP supervisor's meetings. Review of all pertinent communication from departmental, divisional, and Institutional leadership and dissemination of pertinent information to the other APP Research.Meet regularly (monthly) with the inpatient and outpatient APP teams, to coordinate and share information between inpatient and outpatient services that the research APP personnel should be aware of.Meet regularly with the manager and provide updates on performance of the team, concerns and implementation of any initiatives and new programs.Meet with the Chair and the Department Administrator as needed to discuss potential new clinical projects or clinical needs.EDUCATIONRequired:Degree requirements as defined by the Texas State Board Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) or Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners (TSBNE), as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.EXPERIENCERequired:Two years experience as an advanced practice provider.LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONRequired:Current license and/or certification as defined by the (TSBPAE) or (TSBNE) as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN or ACNP or ACNPC or ACAGNP or AGACNP or ACNPC-AG or AGACNP or AGNP or ACPNP or ANP or AGNP or AGPCNP or FNP or GNP or PNP or PMHNP or WHNP or APNP) or Physician Assistant.   • At Houston Methodist, the Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) position is licensed clinician who is responsible for, with minimal supervision, supporting, facilitating and coordinating the daily clinical trial activities and plays a critical role in the conduct of the study. This position functions at the Competent level according to the Benner\'s model of clinical practice. The CRN provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently to research patients under the supervision of the Clinical Trials Manager and Principal Investigator.
