The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline.About the roleReporting to the SVP, the VP, Power Generation will be responsible for the management, oversight, and overall direction of all Power Generation facilities including responsibility for ensuring profitability, contract compliance, regulatory compliance, and safety. In addition, the Manager will develop, approve and supervise facility budgets, ensuring the portfolio remains profitable and expenses remain aligned with budget expectations. The Manager will ensure plant operations are safe, production is improved, and all projects maintain maximum availability. Additionally, the Manager will identify deficiencies and provide the vision and change leadership to improve performance.Key accountabilities

Responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.

Coordinate, supervise, and lead Directors of the Caterpillar and DD60 power plants and Shop Repair Facility Manager such that operational productivity is improved through smooth execution of maintenance evolutions.

Review and approve process of plant operating budgets for owner level presentation. This includes developing a project budget schedule and communication protocol for Directors and Shop Repair facilities.

Supervise and review financial statements and data to ensure budget adherence.

Provide timely input to project due diligence, and project acquisitions.

Research and analyze project improvements to implement major plant improvement projects.

Run and improve relationships with all project counterparties in order to minimize disruption and hardships to local plant operating staff.

Ensure plant procedures are developed in a consistent manner, with plant level staff adhering to procedural operations.

Ensure communications are timely, transparent, and clear with direct reports and other departments within the organization.

Ensure plants remain in compliance with all permits, and Federal, State and local laws and regulations.

Provide steadfast dedication to safety while positively representing and implementing the company safety culture. Evaluate and lead facility operational performance and direct improvement affecting safety, availability, reliability and efficiency.

Coordinate with Archaea’s Safety Manager to ensure all plant personnel align with the comprehensive safety program. Collaborate with Archaea Safety Manager to resolve organization wide safety exposure.

Review financial statements to ensure budget adherence while making any vital adjustments to maintain profitability and corresponding cash flows.

Research project improvement opportunities that could provide short term returns through improved production and reliability.

Ensure projects maintain compliance with all contracts through summarization, review, and perform spot checks.

Review staffing plans to ensure staffing levels remain optimal.

Ensure all direct reports are developing, maintaining, and reporting action items to evaluate program effectiveness and providing closure to actionable items.

Create a development and training program for direct reports and ensure operator level development plan is positioned to attract and retain high level operating staff.

Review and approve plant requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices per Archaea Energy Services O&M manual, purchasing procedure and management agreement according to level of DOA.

Support environmental compliance by collaborating with all appropriate Federal, State, County, and Local Government Agencies and Regulators as the need arises ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, County, and Local Laws, permits, and regulations.

Essential education

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.

Essential experience

10 years Landfill Gas to Energy, High BTU, Oil Refinery, Chemical Process, Power Plant Operations and/or technical experience.

5 years’ experience leading operations or maintenance personnel.

Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Acute attention to detail.

Proficient on Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must pass background check, physical, hearing and DOT drug test.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

You will also be eligible for 9 paid holidays per year and 2 personal choice holidays.
