We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Groundskeeper to join our team and help maintain the beauty and functionality of our resort.
Position Purpose:
The Groundskeeper at Hidden Lake RV Resort plays a crucial role in maintaining the resort’s outdoor spaces, ensuring they are attractive, safe, and enjoyable for our guests. This position is responsible for performing a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, and general upkeep of the resort’s grounds and facilities. The Groundskeeper’s work directly impacts the overall guest experience by providing a well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Grounds Maintenance:
- Turf maintenance (mowing, edging, sod laying, monitoring turf health)
- Weed and pest control
- Lawn care (watering, mowing, trimming, fertilization)
- Aeration and turf leveling
- Gardening and flower bed planting and maintenance
- Fertilizer and fungus control
- Storm drain cleaning
- General groundskeeping
2. Facility and Equipment Maintenance:
- Pool cleaning and maintenance
- Irrigation system management
- Equipment maintenance and minor repairs
- Environmental and Sanitation Management:
3. Pet station attendance
- Valet trash management
4. Safety and Compliance:
- Comply with safety protocols
- Participate in safety training
- Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Basic knowledge of horticulture, turf management, and weed/pest management techniques
- Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, aerators)
- Understanding of irrigation systems and pool maintenance
Other Skills:
- Problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills
Physical Requirements and Abilities:
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to various weather conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy equipment (must be able to lift at least 50 pounds)
- May require working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Pay Rate: $10 to $17 per hour, based on ability and experience
Overtime: 1.5 times the hourly rate
Annual Bonus: Based on performance metrics and tenure
Pay Period: Every other Friday
Employment Type: Full-Time W2 Employee
Vacation: Paid vacation based on tenure, starting at 40 hours
