We are looking for a skilled and experienced Houseman/Groundskeeper for a UHNW family based in Houston, TX. This role seeks to oversee the maintenance and smooth operation of their estate and surrounding grounds. The ideal candidate will have expertise in gardening, groundskeeping, and household maintenance, as well as experience managing high-end properties. This role requires a hands-on professional who will work closely with the family and other staff to ensure the home and grounds are maintained to the highest standard.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in groundskeeping or property maintenance, similar role supporting UHNW families or luxury estates is a plus
- Expertise in gardening and greenhouse management
- Strong knowledge of groundskeeping, landscaping, swimming pool maintenance, and irrigation systems
- Hands-on experience with water filtration systems and emergency generators is not a requirement but a major plus
- Proficient with tools and equipment for grounds and household maintenance
- Discreet, trustworthy, and professional
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities or tasks
Responsibilities:
- Maintain all exterior areas of the estate, including lawns, gardens, patios, outdoor kitchen, and pool areas
- Handle gardening tasks with a strong understanding of plant care, pruning, planting, and greenhouse maintenance
- Collaborate with landscapers and other vendors to ensure the grounds are maintained impeccably
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems, addressing any repairs or adjustments as needed
- Oversee the organization and maintenance of the garage, and assist in managing the care and upkeep of the vehicle fleet
- Handle basic household repairs and maintenance tasks, including managing water filtration systems and emergency generators
- Provide additional hands-on support for tasks related to the outdoor areas or household requests
- Perform regular inspections of the property to identify and resolve potential issues promptly
- Provide occasional weekend support for special projects or urgent tasks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional weekend availability as needed
Compensation: 80-100k DOE - Competitive compensation package, including medical insurance premiums paid by employer and participation in 401K matching program
