The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and safe production, packaging, and storage of customer products. This role involves leading a team, maintaining inventory accuracy, and adhering to safety and quality standards
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Safety Oversight:
o Monitor daily warehouse activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
o Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
o Lead and participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency drills.
Environmental Compliance:
o Ensure adherence to environmental policies and procedures, including waste management and hazardous materials handling.
o Maintain accurate records of environmental compliance activities and incidents.
Team Leadership:
o Supervise and mentor warehouse staff, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
o Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
o Provide guidance and support to staff in resolving safety-related issues.
Incident Management:
o Investigate accidents, injuries, and near misses, documenting findings and implementing preventive measures.
o Report incidents to management and regulatory agencies as required.
Continuous Improvement:
o Identify opportunities for safety improvements and contribute to the development of safety programs and initiatives.
o Collaborate with management to implement the best practices and enhance warehouse safety performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
Experience:
· Minimum of 2 years in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a safety or supervisory role.
· Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification preferred; First Aid and CPR certification plus.
· Forklift certification required; additional certifications in warehouse safety are a plus.
Active and Valid driver's license, possibly a Texas driver's license, and the ability to pass DOT physicals
Skills/Abilities:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous.
· Strong ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and safe work environment.
· High level of accuracy in safety inspections, documentation, and reporting.
· Ability to identify safety hazards and implement effective solutions.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and management.
· In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and warehouse safety practices.
Physical Requirements:
Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and move items ranging from 25 to 75 pounds, with some positions requiring the handling of heavier items such as 160-pound kegs.
Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling, and operating equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
Movement and Stamina: Standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing ladders or stairs for extended periods, often up to 8–11 hours per day.
Environmental Exposure: Working in various conditions, including extreme temperatures, humidity, and exposure to dust or fumes.
Travel Requirements:
Local Travel: Positions like delivery and service support may require local travel within Mont Belvieu and surrounding areas, including the operation of company vehicles.
Occasional Overnight Travel: Certain roles may involve occasional overnight travel for training or site visits.
