Responsible for the preparation and replenishment of food, and for custodial duties of the dining and kitchen areas. Duties are performed under close supervision and is reviewed while in progress or upon completion. Exhibits the ability to perform routine tasks consistently.

Knows and applies food safety policies and procedures for department.

Prepare a variety of foods such as meats, vegetables, desserts, according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.

Performs cashier duties if assigned by supervisor.

Exhibits the ability to operate and clean food service equipment without supervision.

If asked to supervise: amount of time and type of supervision allowed is determined by supervising manager.

Number of employees varies with the location in which employee works.

Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers.

If driving is a duty, must follow required policy and procedure for driving Texas Tech vehicles.

Exhibit thorough knowledge and ability in food preparation, equipment use, customer service, sanitation, and safety procedures.

Supervise, if assigned by immediate supervisor, and participate in kitchen and dining area activities.

Train workers in food preparation and in service, sanitation, and safety procedures.

Exhibits the ability to control inventories of food, equipment, small wares and report shortages to designated personnel.
