We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA) is responsible for performing treatment programs developed by the Physical Therapist, documenting treatment, attending team meetings, and participating in continuing education.
Appropriate treatment programs can include, but are not limited to: range of motion, strengthening, sensory/exercise activities, modalities, gait training, balance/sensorimotor reeducation, burn/wound care, development of home exercise program and training in treatment program. Treatment should be coordinated with team members and other medical needs.
PTA is also responsible for providing an inservice for appropriate staff after attending an approved continuing education opportunity.
PTA is responsible for attending continuing education opportunities provided by the hospital, department, or outside sources. Completion of 2.0 CEUs or 20 contact hours of continuing education to renew P.T.A. license is required every two years. Attendance at all mandatory inservices for the hospital and department is required. A current CPR certification is required.
PTA is responsible for maintaining daily attendance records and charges for each patient. Confidentiality of all patient records is required. Patient / family education will be documented.
PTA is responsible for maintaining effective communication with all team members, family, patient, and other medical staff as indicated. Attendance and participation at team meetings and department meetings is required to discuss the patient's condition, progression, plans and goals. PTA is responsible for consulting with physicians, Physical Therapists, and other team members as indicated regarding requests and / or suggestions.

What qualifications you will need:
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA) in the State of Texas
Associate Degree from an accredited PTA program
1 year of experience in an acute care setting preferred
