Job Description

Our client is a well-known telecommunications company that specializes in providing innovative solutions, intelligent operations, and delivery expertise to media and communication companies. They are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer to bring on board on a contract-to-hire basis.
They are Ideally looking for an engineer who has a strong infrastructure background and has experience working in any cloud environment. They are also looking for someone skilled in Linux, Scripting with any of the following (Perl, Python, Shell, PL/ SQL, Java, Bash) someone with a middleware background would be a plus.
This company is headquartered in Plano Texas and is allowing its employees to work on-site or remotely. This will be a contract-to-hire role with a 6-month duration and can pay $60-$70/hr

Required Skills & Experience
  • Infra knowledge (cloud infra, databases, storage, VMS, networking etc.) Very strong infrastructure background, knows how everything connects, probably came up System Admin Middleware Admin background
  • Middleware (one of the following: WebSphere, WebLogic, Jboss, Tomcat, apache, wildfly)
  • Scripting (SQL, Linux, Perl, Python, Shell, PL/SQL, Java, Bash)
  • DB (Oracle, SQL, NoSQL, Cassandra)
  • Cloud- ANY they can train on Azure. Active production environments, not POCs (proof of concepts) - heavy Microservices environments, azure migrations, optimizations, automation, autoscaling across the complex, high volume, high transaction distributed systems/platforms

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Azure
  • CI/CD: Kubernetes, Docker, ELK, Microservices, Maven, Gitlab, Jenkins, Elastic, Ansible, Terraform
  • Consulting experience working with external clients and internal/external delivery teams is highly desired
  • Scripting experience and automation
  • Supporting real-time applications and big data with Terabytes of data - Kafka, Splunk, Grafana, Kibana
  • Experience in Telecom-based organizations and functional understanding of the Telecom industry
