Is that you?Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas 75093Work hours: Part Time, 24 Hours; 8:30am – 9:30am start time; Weekends and Holiday rotation requiredMother/Baby Department highlights:· 36 bed Mother/Baby Unit· Active Unit-Based Council· Opportunities for personal growth through NCAPHere’s What You Need· Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program· BSN preferred· One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.· One year of Lactation Consultant experience preferred· Outpatient Lactation experience preferred· Expereince in Women & Childrens highly preferred· RN – Registered Nuse upon hire reqjuired· IBCLC certification required within 2 years· IBCLC upon hire preferred· NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
What You Will Do· Function as an expert resource on breastfeeding issues for patients, families, community, staff, and physicians.· Serve as a clinical expert for lactation issues based on evidence.· Produce documentation that initiates, follows and revises patient’s plan of care.· Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes that promote continuity of care.· Review patient medications for potential complications associated with breastfeeding.· Assess outpatients for symptoms of jaundice and breastfeeding problems· Participate in breast pump rental and retail sales within the Breastfeeding Resource CenterSince 1991, Texas Health Plano has served the communities of Plano, Frisco, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson, and McKinney.
