Description Robert Half has an immediate need for an estate planning legal assistant for a contract to hire opportunity in Richardson. The ideal Legal Assistant will have three to five years of legal experience in a law firm.What you get to do every single day:
Assemble documents for photocopying/scanning
Maintain word processing, filing and faxing
Manage E-Filing
Delve into archives and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites
Ensure copied documents are duplicates of their original documents
Direct legal research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed
Govern matter management and record keeping
Design correspondence and memorandum
Store documents and assemble data as directed by lawyers and paralegals
Requirements
Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database
2+ years of relevant experience
Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and subpoenas; transactional documents, such as trusts, wills, contracts and real estate leases; and closing documents
Command of estate planning
Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual cases or transactions
Conducting routine discovery
