Based in our Austin, Texas location, you will be responsible to lead the continued development of Emerson’s industry leading capabilities in automation and data management for the life sciences industry. This role will manage work across multiple product lines to ensure Emerson’s enterprise recipe automation offerings meet or exceed the needs for Life Sciences companies. The Life Sciences market is currently expanding to include new technologies which require fresh thinking and different approaches to automation and data management. This role will be leading the effort to create, price and promote solutions to support this fast-growing market.As the Recipe Solutions Marketing Manager for Process Systems and Software, YOU WILL: Do market research on existing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), recipe automation solutions using market studies as well as interviews or focus groups with Life Sciences customers, Emerson sales people and Emerson project engineers. You will become intimately familiar with the challenges, demands, needs and wants of Life Sciences companies – both small start-ups, as well as large established multi-national corporations. Lead the effort to direct our Technology development teams on the overall development requirements for product capabilities, features and functionality we must develop to meet customer needs. These sessions will require thoughtful trade-offs related to customer value, development costs, time-to-market considerations, and pricing options to create a realistic plan, both technically and commercially. Lead the discussions with customers, salespeople and our pricing team to identify the value delivered by our solutions and determining appropriate licensing and pricing levels for each offering. Lead the communication plan for training and preparing channel partners in all applicable world areas. Act as the lead customer interface when appropriate, to present Emerson’s enterprise wide recipe automation solutions to end users and contractors as required. Lead the reporting and presentations to the Process Systems and Software executive management team on accomplishments, current capabilities, and investments required for continued success in the Life Sciences market.WHO YOU ARE:Someone who can use the knowledge of business drivers and how strategies and tactics play out in the market to guide actions. Someone who can effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: BS Engineering (Chemical, Biomedical or Computer Engineering Preferred) or BS Computer Science with 8 years experience, OR Bachelor's degree in other field with 10 years experience Experience – 8 years’ experience in product marketing, sales, implementation or support of life sciences industry automation or data management solutions. (7 years if applicant has an MBA) Familiarity with life sciences automation requirements including standards, validation, deviations, data integrity, records keeping, auditing and assessment practices. Ability to travel 10%-25% within the USA, and occasionally travel internationally (pandemic and quarantine rules allowing) Must be able to work in the United StatesPREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
