Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Assistant Controller in San Antonio, Texas. This role is critical within the transportation industry, primarily focusing on managing and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. Responsibilities: Preparing lease-related financial reports and schedules, ensuring the accurate recording of right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, and amortization schedules. Collaborating with various teams to evaluate the lease portfolio and ensure proper classification and accounting treatment within ERP systems and financial reports. Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP. Assisting in the development of management reports to track lease-related assets and liabilities along with other key financial metrics. Reviewing financial data to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reporting across various transportation-related revenue streams. Providing technical accounting expertise regarding complex transactions, including lease modifications, terminations, and new lease categorizations. Conducting lease accounting training for finance employees and other departmental staff as needed. Providing meaningful financial insights to senior management regarding lease-related impacts on operational budgets and capital plans.Requirements Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required. Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential for this role. Familiarity with Concur is a necessary skill. Ability to use Crystal Reports effectively is required. Mastery of Accounting Functions is expected for this role. Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary. Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) processes is important. Proven experience in Auditing is a must.
