COBOL Developer Specialist

Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications on the AS400 platform, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance standards.

Database Integration: Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support COBOL application functionality with DB2 databases.

CL Programming: Write and maintain CL (Control Language) programs to automate and manage AS400 operations.

Implementation: Utilize Implementor tools to manage and deploy application changes in a controlled and efficient manner.

Debugging: Diagnose and resolve issues related to COBOL applications and DB2 databases, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.

Performance Tuning: Monitor and improve the performance of COBOL applications and DB2 databases.

Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for COBOL applications, database configurations, and CL programs.

Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management

Independently and collaboratively lead client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes including implementing leading practice workflows, addressing deficits in quality, and driving operational outcomes

AM&I is composed of three different areas- Service Delivery & Business Design, Application Modernization & Migration and Quality Engineering.Qualifications Required

7+ years of Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications on the AS400 platform

Strong experience in database integration: Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support COBOL application functionality with DB2 databases

Strong experience in: Control Language programming, implementations, debugging, and documentation

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience

Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred

Health Plan and EDI X12 knowledge

Analytical/ Decision Making Responsibilities

Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products

Can operate independently or with minimum supervision

Excellent Written and Communication Skills

Ability to deliver technical demonstrations
