Job Title: Licensed Fire Alarm Technician

Location: San Antonio

Reports To: Fire Alarm Supervisor / Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Licensed Fire Alarm Technician to install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in NFPA codes, local fire codes, and manufacturer specifications, and hold a valid fire alarm license in accordance with state or local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

-Install, program, and commission fire alarm systems including panels, detectors, pull stations, horns/strobes, and other related components

-Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance in accordance with NFPA 72, local codes, and company policies

-Troubleshoot system issues and perform necessary repairs to ensure system functionality

-Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

-Maintain accurate documentation for all inspections, maintenance, and repair activities

-Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure system compliance and project success

-Respond to emergency service calls and after-hours troubleshooting as required

-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire alarm system technology, products, and best practices

-Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards

Qualifications:

-Valid Fire Alarm Technician License (as required by state or local jurisdiction)

-High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or trade certification preferred

-2+ years of experience in fire alarm system installation and service

-Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes

-Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Notifier, Simplex, EST, Silent Knight, etc.) are a plus

-Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

-Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

-Excellent communication and customer service skills

-Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at heights or in confined spaces

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

-Experience programming EST

-Experience with voice evacuation, mass notification, and integrated life safety systems

-Service experience a plus

-OSHA 10/30 certification

Work Environment:

-Indoor and outdoor job sites

-Travel to various client locations may be required

-May require working evenings or weekends depending on client needs and emergency situations
