Payroll Specialist

Description We are in the retail industry, located in Southlake, Texas, 76092, United States and are currently in search of a Payroll Specialist. The chosen candidate will be a key member of our team, taking on a range of responsibilities including processing payroll, maintaining records, and handling inquiries. Responsibilities Oversee weekly payroll processing, auditing, reconciliation, and record keeping duties. Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of local, state, and federal payroll taxes. Handle processes related to garnishments, tax levies, and child support orders, including agency correspondence. Maintain and audit direct deposit and pay card information. Manage the preparation and processing of payments for independent contractors. Collaborate with respective teams to document and maintain payroll procedures. Prepare management and ad-hoc reports. Communicate with employees as necessary. Utilize software tools such as Pivot Tables, V-lookup, and Workday for payroll tasks. Demonstrate a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Adapt to changing organizational and operational needs with flexibility. Exercise strong research skills, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Uphold solid integrity, responsibility, and accountability when handling sensitive employee information. Requirements Proven experience in the retail industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Expertise in processing multi-state payroll. Familiarity with automated payroll systems. Experience with Workday software is a must. Deep understanding of payroll laws and regulations. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is desirable. Certification in payroll (CPP) would be a plus. Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve problems. High degree of detail orientation and a strong work ethic. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to stay updated with the latest payroll trends and best practices.
