Since 2008 our experienced doctors nurses and support staff have provided expert care to support our community.ResponsibilitiesProvides care to those suffering from acute and chronic respiratory problems. This care includes treatment,management, control, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with thecardiopulmonary system.

Administering therapy modalities which include, but are not limited to, Hand held Nebulizer (HHN), HHN via metered

dose inhaler (HHN/MDI), Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation (IPV), Chest Physical Therapy (CPT), Pentamidinetherapy. Medication administration may be included during these therapy modalities

Administering medical gas therapy including oxygen and Helium-Oxygen Therapy (HeO2).

Performing ventilation therapies, including maintenance and management of life support systems. These therapies

are comprised of non-invasive and invasive ventilation therapies, as well as transport of ventilator patients to diagnosticprocedures

Performs physiological monitoring and diagnostic testing including, ABG puncture, bronchoscopy assistance,

pulmonary function testing, bedside PFT's, metabolic monitoring, apnea monitoring, transcutaneous monitoring,capnography, and pulse oximetry and sleep apnea assessment.

Performs specialized procedures which including but are not limited to, CPR, bronchial lavage, transport,

cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, artificial and tracheostomy airway care, and body mechanics/ambulation. Permanent ortemporary assignment may be made to the Pulmonary Function Lab to perform diagnostic procedures to identify andquantify dysfunction by spirometry, gas diffusion, and body plethysmographyQualificationsRequired:Completion of respiratory care degree programRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and LicensedRespiratory Care Practitioner by the State of Texas (RCP)Based on location assignment may also require BLS/ACLS/NRP andor PALS - this location requires NRPPay Range$27.77 - $40.27 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.

This position may perform diagnostic testing of the cardiac respiratory system, as appropriate. As a member of the direct patient care team, the RCP position provides direct assistance to physicians and other care health professionals, with respiratory care-related procedures within the scope of the professional licensure. This position delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to standards and guidelines established by respiratory and regulatory agencies and Houston Methodist to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.
