Reds Electrical Services, Inc., a leader in commercial electrical contracting services, is seeking a skilled and motivated Fabrication and Maintenance Technician to join our team. This full-time, in-person role offers a dynamic mix of hands-on tasks in electrical maintenance, carpentry, and fabrication, making it an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude and diverse technical skills.
Position Overview:
As a Fabrication and Maintenance Technician, you will perform a variety of tasks, including minor electrical and carpentry maintenance and fabrication work in our shop environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of working independently or collaboratively to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Maintenance:
-Perform minor electrical repairs, such as replacing outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
-Troubleshoot and resolve basic electrical issues while adhering to safety standards.
Carpentry Maintenance:
-Conduct minor carpentry repairs, including fixing doors, windows, and furniture.
-Assemble, install, or repair wooden structures and fixtures as needed.
Fabrication:
-Operate shop equipment (e.g., welders, saws, drills, grinders) to fabricate, modify, or repair components.
-Design and create custom metal or wood parts according to project requirements.
-Ensure all fabricated items meet quality and safety standards.
General Maintenance Support:
-Perform routine inspections of tools, equipment, and facilities to identify maintenance needs.
-Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance and fabrication requests.
-Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
-Technical or vocational training is a plus, but not required
-5+ years of experience in maintenance, fabrication, or a related field.
-Basic knowledge of electrical and carpentry repair techniques.
-Proficiency with shop tools and equipment, including welding and cutting tools.
-Strong problem-solving skills and ability to read and interpret technical drawings or schematics.
-Understanding of safety protocols and OSHA standards.
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
-Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
-Capable of standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
