To accomplish this, Kodiak focuses on providing internal professional development and training, as well as the best benefits package in the industry.The Manager of Project Controls oversees several key project functions, which require accurate reporting of cost and schedule progression & projections, compiling/production of timely and accurate data, and tracking/delivery of key documentation to Project Management. The role involves assuming responsibility for all project controls duties for medium to large-scale endeavors, encompassing engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPC) projects, which carry moderate to elevated levels of risk. This position offers a unique opportunity for an individual to have an impact on the development of a fast growing segment of Kodiak Gas leading to future opportunities for growth along with it.Basic Job Responsibilities

Prioritize Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) considerations at every project stage.

Adhere completely to Kodiak’s main contract, ensuring proper client reporting, notifications, project system initiation, and closure requirements.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Facilitate transparency within the project team and the enterprise regarding project issues or potential factors that could affect the accurate and timely projection of project costs to completion through effective communication.

Provide comprehensive cost engineering services for projects, encompassing estimate reviews and meticulous cost tracking.

Oversee job site document and technical information management, ensuring accuracy and accessibility throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage the flow of project engineering design information to support the planned construction sequence, coordinating closely with the Project Engineer, Project Management, field supervision, design engineers, and client/owner.

Identify and isolate issues related to project documentation, collaborating with stakeholders to develop effective solutions.

Ensure adherence to Request for Information (RFI) processes, addressing and resolving any issues in a timely manner.

Maintain comprehensive control over all aspects of project document management, including the project filing system, distribution processes, and auditing procedures.

Apply change management processes during project execution to allow for accurate tracking/evaluation by Project Management.

Supervise project performance reporting across the project life cycle.

Innovate and standardize project performance formats for efficient reporting.

Assist project teams in implementing cost and schedule management procedures and reporting requirements, ensuring integration into contractors' scope of services.

Manage internal project controls processes comprehensively across all project execution facets.

Develop enhanced processes and tools to support departmental responsibilities effectively.

Support Project Managers and internal stakeholders with custom reporting and special project requirements.

Conduct post-project audits to reconcile actual versus estimated data, refining estimating assumptions and processes accordingly.

Report critical project data to the management team.

Proactively goal-oriented, taking initiative to positively influence project and department performance.

Ability to solve intricate problems and thrive in complex project or business environments.

Compile/distribute departmental project metrics in weekly reports for discussion at regular department meetings and monthly/quarterly close.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Science or Business preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of industrial experience, with at least five years in a leadership role in Project Controls.

At least ten years of functional experience in cost control, scheduling, estimating, or construction project controls within the oil & gas industry, particularly with industrial EPC projects.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects), SAP or equivalent inventory management software, Primavera, and visual presentations.

Strong understanding of cost engineering principles and methods, including Budgeting, Forecasting, Change Management Systems/Procedure, Work Breakdown Structures, Earned Value Systems, and Contingency allocation.

Flexibility for travel and response to non-routine callouts.

Exceptional analytical skills for system performance evaluation and troubleshooting, with mastery of continuous process improvement tools.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate complex concepts/issues across all organizational levels, internally and externally.

Strong leadership, mentoring, and teamwork abilities to transfer technical expertise to less experienced professionals.

Effective communication skills for interaction with a diverse range of stakeholders, including external vendors, customers, and government agencies.
