Senior Mortgage Underwriter - TX, AZ, CO (Remote)

We are now accepting resumes for our Mortgage Underwriter position. This position may be located in The Woodlands, TX, Phoenix, AZ or Greenwood Village, CO, or fully remote. The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to: · Be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, underwriting, evaluating and for approving or denying mortgage residential loan applications according to the company's guidelines, business and credit standards as well as applicable laws and regulations. · Be responsible to review and analyze income, asset, credit documentation, credit reports, salary and employment history, debt ratios and loan to value information to determines a borrower's creditworthiness. · May also evaluate the value of the subject property. · May recommend terms of loan. · Review documents and forms within system. · Gather information as necessary to make sound decisions. · Respond to affiliate banks, loan center and branch personnel on lending decisions and issues. · Be responsible and accountable for risk by elevating concerns and following policies and procedures. · Keep abreast of federal and state laws and regulations relating to consumer lending. · Other duties as assigned. Qualifications : · 5+ years’ experience with mortgage underwriting, including agency, portfolio, and/or government lending · Extensive knowledge of consumer/mortgage credit, credit reports, lending and underwriting concepts, practices and procedures · Ability to review and analysis analyze income, assets, credit documentation, credit reports, debt ratios and loan to value information · Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to consumer lending · Ability to make sound decisions · Must have strong customer relations and communication skills, both verbal and written · Ability to underwrite a high volume of loan applications maintaining accuracy and consistency · Strong attention to detail · Ability to handle confidential material in a professional manner · Working knowledge of a various related software applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, etc. · Preferred Qualifications: FHA DE and/or VA SAR Benefits : · Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance - START DAY ONE! · Life and Disability Insurance, Paid Parental Leave and Adoption Assistance. · Health Savings (HSA), Flexible Spending (FSA) and dependent care accounts. · Paid Training, Paid Time Off (PTO).
