SUMMARYThe primary purpose of the Nurse Navigator position is to coordinate and implement patient care across the continuum of care. The Nurse Navigator is accountable and responsible for providing quality, evidence-based patient care through the appropriate use of resources in collaboration with the inter-professional team. Acts as a patient and family advocate to uphold patient rights. Assists with tracking of metrics and quality indicators for diagnosing and treating cancers promptly and effectively.b. Becomes proficient in and utilizes MDACC patient care records for documentation of care. Provides reports and organizes data as requested.Other duties as assigned.Required education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.Required experience: Five years professional nursing experience to include three years oncology nursing. With preferred degree, two years Advanced Practice Registered Nurse experience in an oncology setting.Required certification: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
