Other duties may be assigned.Prepares product/ assemblies/ parts for finish paint (after prime).May assist in the training of new hires.May perform some prep work of surfaces before applying coatings.Mixes paints, primers, enamels, etc. in accordance with manufacture's specifications and/or the work order.Applies coatings to surfaces of the product, assemblies, or parts with various types of equipment - sprayers, airless guns, electrostatic equipment, etc.May be required to dispose or recycle paints, thinners and other chemicals and properly disposes of waste.May be required to properly identify/ tag shipping containers containing hazardous waste.May be required to clean up or assist in the clean up of hazardous materials spills throughout the plant.May be required to track and control inventory and usage of paints, and other hazardous materials.Ability to use a variety of hand tools.Complete all requirements listed in the matrix for this classification.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the potential to be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Works in an environment with paints and other chemicals which require the wearing of a respirator and other protective clothing.
