The Events and Communications Specialist will report to the Associate Director of Research Program Development. Work with the Research Program Development team to organize and execute smaller Initiative events such as monthly seminar series and educational trainings.

Support the work of the Events and Communications Manager on large-scale initiative events such as annual symposia. This may include the coordination of catering, creation of registration forms, compiling speaker information and promotional material development.

Produce initiative newsletters and communications with materials provided by Research Program Development staff and initiative leadership.

Create initiative materials, such as social media posts and event flyers, including basic formatting, layouts, and copy-editing.

Manage initiative social media channels using materials provided by Research Program Development staff and Initiative leadership.

Update initiative websites as directed by the Events and Communications Manager.

Provide additional support to initiatives as needed. This may include supporting seed grant competitions, scheduling large meetings, and other activities.

Apply problem-solving skills to variety of challenges. Some resolutions may require some analysis and interpretation, requiring innovation and creativity.
