Experience planning and executing marketing strategies is crucial, as is the ability to collaborate with a diverse team of faculty and staff. A background in public relations, meanwhile, is a plus. This position will be responsible for elevating RMCOEH’s brand — including its programs at both the University of Utah and Weber State University — through a range of channels, with aims that include recruiting local and national students, increasing stakeholders’ awareness about the center’s positive impacts on workers and businesses, and growing engagement with our continuing education offerings for professionals.A typical day may involve collaborating with our multimedia content specialist on a social media advertising campaign in the morning, designing a plan to market our continuing education courses to professionals before lunch, and accompanying faculty on a visit to a construction site in the afternoon for an up-close look at the kinds of problems graduates of our programs are trained to tackle. The person who will be most successful in this position views themselves, on some level, as a storyteller. They are intrigued — and motivated — by the challenge of ensuring the world knows about the remarkable things happening here every day, from students becoming budding experts in their fields to faculty conducting research that shapes how key issues regarding occupational and environmental health and safety are understood. We want people to know what we do at RMCOEH and how it makes workers’ lives better and our communities stronger. We are looking for someone who gets excited at the prospect of digging into what makes our center special and showcasing it in a way that gets people to sit up and pay attention. If that’s you, please apply. We’re excited to hear your story — and to learn how you can help us share ours.Responsibilities
