Emphasis on multi-functional involvement, procurement, project management, safety and environmental compliance, project work, vendor management and related documentation. This position will get direction from the Manufacturing Leader and have oversight for the facility budget. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety laws, policies and procedures.RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the facility projects from creation of Scope of Work and financial justification to final inspection and close-out. New construction act as BD project manager, attend and participate in design, review and approve drawings, work with city on permitting . Assist in contract writing and project bidding. Construction attends weekly construction and safety meetings, reviews and approves submittals, maintains construction schedule, site visits, signs on final punch list items, and maintains construction documents . Source work through external vendors where required. Evaluates and presents options to management.

Ensure Contractors are trained and follow safety laws, GMPs and required internal procedures.

Develop and implement energy reduction and other projects that support BD's Global Sustainability Goals. Track cost savings.

Design, create drawings, bid and manage small projects in the facility.

Work with other engineering groups to ensure production's facilities needs are met. Coordinate with production managers to develop plan and implement manufacturing plant layout and facilities modifications.

Maintain the property loss function of the plant. Includes but not limited to compliance with all regulatory requirements, FM Global insurance, safety, loss prevention implementation and security.

On call 24/7 for emergencies, work holidays during summer and winter shutdowns.

Create and modify PM plans in SAP. Ensure PM plans are optimized in SAP and department compliance is at 100%.

Maintain GMP, ADA, OSHA, FDA, RCRA and EPA requirements throughout operations.

Control departmental expenses to meet budget constraints. Assess and develop future budget needs. Manage and pay all facilities vendors, write purchase orders as needed Track all facility project budgets and regularly update collaborators.

Coordinate maintenance activities. Compose any required purchase requisitions. When PM done internally maintain inventory of materials needed for PM order in SAP. Ensure correct materials are allocated to the correct PM's.

Monitor and report on main Facilities operations, including compressed air systems, HVAC systems, vacuum systems and utilities usage. Coordinates janitorial services and pest control services.

Support site inspections by fire department, water department etc.

Coordinates office moves, minor remodel or reconfiguration projects. Maintains cleaning logs and documentation. Liaison with building landlord on any Common Area Maintenance issues including roof leaks, snow removal and landscaping issues.

Implement the site’s long-term facilities strategy.

Participate on the site’s EH&S committee and implements work to improve our safety system and culture and ensure compliance

Manages a team of maintenance staff, janitors, and other personnel, provides leadership and direction.

QualificationsKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Knowledge of federal and state laws on GMP, EPA, OSHA, GMP and industrial hygiene protocols, fire protection, emergency response management and hazardous material storage and disposal.

Excellent interpersonal skills. Proven vendor management skills.

HVAC, Air Compressors and Building Management Systems experience preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

5- 8 years of facility, plant, or operation experience required

Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience in project management, cost estimation, negotiation, and contract management required

Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications required

Proficient with AutoCAD, Excel, Word and MS Project required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Must be able to be on feet for 8 hours a day

Must be able to access the facility roof top (i.e. use a ladder)
