DUCKFAT, located near Portland Maine's Historic Old Port, has been locally owned and operated for 20 years. The restaurant is a small but busy with 32 seats (50 seats in summer) and open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. We specialize in duck fat Belgian fries, grilled paninis and sandwiches, soups, salads, homemade sodas, charcuterie and small plates. We pride ourselves on making almost everything we sell.

Duckfat Frites Shack, our sister location, is just blocks away on Portland’s up and coming Washington Ave. This location serves several purposes; a walk up, take-out window nestled in the shared Beer Garden next to Oxbow’s Blending & Bottling tasting room. The menu at the Frites Shack is similar to DUCKFAT’S with specials geared towards the Beer Garden. This location also serves as a commissary kitchen for both locations preparing our iconic Belgian fries, charcuterie, smoked meats, soups and stocks as well as fermentation & preservation of fruits and vegetables.

Job Description:

Head of Food Quality & Specials for both locations. This position would be heavily involved in working with food but also would require some expediting on the line. This position would work closely with the chefs at both locations helping to keep quality and consistency at a high level while leading up the creation of specials. A chef that brings a mentor mentality that willingly collaborates and leads by example. DUCKFAT prides itself on it’s healthy culture and like minded staff. Qualities We’re Looking For:

A straight forward, hard working Cook that takes pride in good food.
