About Camp Thorpe:
For over 90 years, Camp Thorpe has been a beacon of joy, providing a traditional camping experience for individuals with disabilities. Each of our four sessions hosts over 55 campers and 40 staff, creating a vibrant and dynamic environment.
The Role:
As the Head Cook, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary experience at Camp Thorpe. You'll lead our kitchen operations, ensuring each meal not only meets dietary needs but also delights our campers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and optimize daily kitchen operations.
Craft and execute diverse menus catering to various dietary preferences.
Prepare meals with adherence to quality and food safety standards.
Organize and manage catering for special events.
Conduct staff training and supervision, fostering a collaborative kitchen environment.
Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless operation.
What We’re Looking For:
A culinary enthusiast with at least 3 years of food industry experience, ideally in food service management.
A creative mind for menu planning and recipe development.
Strong leadership qualities and team management skills.
Expertise in culinary techniques and food cost control.
A commitment to upholding food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene.
