Converse Home is an assisted living residence in downtown Burlington. We’ve provided a graceful place for older people to live for 135 years, and as a non-profit, we are focused on providing outstanding service. Our chefs and line cooks get to know our residents’ tastes and dietary needs and then work together to create a community through food. Unlike restaurants, you know who you’ll be serving and the number of people you will nourish every shift.
Responsibilites include:
Prepares and serves meals following established menus
Maintains high standards for health and safety
Communicate effectively with dining team
Assists with ordering and receiving inventory
Qualifications:
has 3+ years of experience as a line cook cooking for large groups (50 or more)
Ability to prepare and serve a wide range of foods skillfully and make menu substitutions for specialized dietary needs
possess working knowledge of rules and regulations related to health and safety
able to lift up to 30 pounds to occasionally 50 pounds and be able to spend long periods of time standing
pass a background check
ability to pay close attention to details and be creative
This position is full-time, with a regular schedule. Pay is $24.00/hour, with excellent benefits (including medical, dental, vision and paid time off).
