What You?ll Get to Do:

Candidate will support the US Navy DDG 51 Class Shipbuilding Program outside the Washington Navy Yard headquarters to provide Post Delivery Engineering services to the Trial Cards Manager.? Provide trial card tracking, generation, and management support; perform functions for ship tests, compartment completion inspections, certifications and trials.?


More About the Role:
  • The ability to work with databases in the management of data and the creation of reports is required.? Record documented deficiencies, screenings and status using Navy database.
  • Participate in at-sea ship trials and trial card pre-screening.
  • Support development of Post Shakedown Availability Work Package (PSAWP), including filenames for all Contractor responsible and deferred work. Conduct trial card recording, tracking, coding, trend analysis and engineering analysis using Navy database or another similar automated information system provided by the Government.
  • Provide Ship?s Force with periodic trial card reports.
  • Track and compile all new construction shipyard identified responsible work deferred to Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) and provide it for inclusion in the PSA work package.
  • Track Contractor deferred work to completion and provides periodic updates to the Post Delivery Management.
  • Prepare materials for trial card entry into the Navy database. Assist with the documentation and storage of all availability certification Objective Quality Evidence (OQE).?
  • Provide on-site services in this capacity for the duration of each PSA in the ship?s homeport.
  • Travel will be required at least 25% of the time and candidate must have the ability to work in an industrial environment and be physically capable to climb ladders to move between a DDG Class ship?s compartments and participate in at-sea ship trials.


You?ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • BS or equivalent + 0 yrs. Experience or 2 yrs. relevant experience, Business degree, engineering degree and prior experience with ships is preferred.
  • Requires strong analytical and database management skills to properly record documented deficiencies, screenings and status using the trials cards database

Responsibilities As a Management & Program Analyst (Knowledge Management Technical Advisor), GS-0343-14, you will perform the following duties: Leads the establishment and oversight of NSF institutional vocabulary and data model (ontology) to be used for organizing and tagging knowledge artifacts to prepare the agency for smart search and retrieval and for the implementation of artificial intelligence and data-as-a-service. Serves as the agency authority to create and own the NSF policies and procedures relating to knowledge management & knowledge management technology. Represents top level leadership on complex matters involving knowledge management technology policies and procedures, involving both written and oral presentations. Serves as the project leader for Knowledge Management Technology and advises on technology architecture that accommodates NSF\'s knowledge management needs.
