Director of Minority Fellowship Program

The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) funded by grants from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, helps ethnic minority students complete graduate studies in social work (master’s or doctoral degrees). The MFP program’s masters and doctoral fellowships involve recruitment outreach; stakeholder and pipeline development; application, review and selection of program recipients; mentoring, training and support to fellowship recipients; and ongoing communication with current and alumni fellows.The Director of MFP provides academic and programmatic leadership and direction on the recruitment and retention of applicants and participating colleges and universities; review and analyze research data relevant to the program and its participants; serve as a leader in facilitating meetings; and take a leadership role with developing and disseminating project materials, grant proposals and reports.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWorks closely with CSWE’s President & CEO and Vice President of Education to integrate the work of the Minority Fellowship Program into the overall strategic plan of the organization.Promotes an organizational environment that values respect, representation, and equitable opportunity.Represent CSWE MFP at all internal and external meetings where a presence is required.Participates in all trainings of fellows and develops project and training materials for conference and meeting presentations.Provides professional mentoring to all fellows.Guide strategic planning and evaluation of essential programmatic functions (e.g., MFP and MFP-Y trainings, alumni and fellow surveys)Participates in marketing the master’s and doctoral fellowships to colleges, universities and students.Identifies funding sources and prepares grants and contracts in an effort to secure and maintain program funding.Develops project and training materials for conference and meeting presentations.Oversees the development of online services and other communication media that will cover topics of interest to fellows such as program expectations, cultural competence and behavioral health issues.Directs various program activities related to project goals and objectives.Provides leadership and guidance to MFP staff providing support to the Program.Performs other duties as assigned and directed.
