Process Improvement Engineer

DescriptionAre you ready for your next challenge?The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is looking for a Process Improvement Engineer (PIE) in the Alexandria, VA area to support a broad range of responsibilities including documentation of current processes and procedures; making recommendations for and documenting future processes and procedural requirements; and developing courses of action for automation capabilities. As the PIE, you will ensure all opportunities to improve process and performance present themselves; and guide the improvement to ensure effective implementation is achieved. In this role, you will be the liaison with the process automation support team to develop all planning, documentation, and coordination of concept, strategy, and roadmap deliverables to achieve future capabilities. You will also consolidate operational and mission requirements, identify capability shortfalls and interoperability issues, assess performance efficiencies, and implement process improvements.This position is hybrid, however you must be within commuting distance of the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA to go in office one to two days per week. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance to start.What will you do in this role?

Maintain adherence to the program’s process improvement initiatives.

Partner with internal and external customers in facilitating/leading Lean Six Sigma structured improvement activities (SIAs).

Support organization meetings, take notes, maintain metrics, and assignments.

Coordinate events and act as the correspondent for the organization.

Facilitate and participate in continual improvements to procedures.

Identify areas for potential improvement and work with the program team to vet and mature each opportunity.

Help with developing workflows, operating procedures, and work instructions for enterprise-wide daily execution, automation, and reporting.

Generate operation reports and distribute them to the team.

Conduct trend analyses on performance issues to help evaluate predictive behaviors/outcomes.

Support the mechanisms to actively monitor the effectiveness of process improvement initiatives.

Monitor workflow and process compliance and track corrective actions to closure.

Review process outputs to ensure compliance.

Monitor and track quality action items and quality issues through resolution.

Basic Qualifications :

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Experience with process improvement initiatives.

U.S. Citizenship required with an active Top Secret (TS) clearance.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Detail-oriented and excellent time-management skills.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Good with PowerPoint presentations.

Solid organization skills and attention to detail.

Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience with Power BI.

Experience with federal organizations and interacting with senior civilian and military personnel.
