We will provide you with real-world work experience through a variety of tailored projects and assignments that will broaden your perspective of the profession while coaching, guiding and mentoring you along the way. During the summer of 2020 you will be given an opportunity to partner with other student interns to explore a real case study that is drawn from our culture at SHRM. So, apply today!ResponsibilitiesCarry out division specific tasks/activities and any additional responsibilities that have been allocated, and mutually agreed upon by the student and supervisor. Manage deliverables and provide regular updates.Divisions:Executive Office: The Executive Office intern will work on special projects as needed within the Office of the CEO and General Counsel. The Intern will work with the Chief of Staff, Government Affairs and the Legal Team on special projects and initiatives. Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a major in business administration, non-profit, legal, or related field.Finance & Accounting: The Finance & Accounting intern will participate in a wide range of financial tasks such as financial management and standard operating procedures documentation. The Intern will also assist the accounting team with operational support. Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a major in accounting, business administration, finance or related field .Global: The Global Development intern will assist in developing and delivering ongoing learning experiences through conference events, instructor-led programs, and an eLearning library. In addition to these premier resources that offer HR professionals a continued opportunity for growth, the intern will could also conduct research and analyze data to gain knowledge of global market segments. Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a major in international business, hospitality management, instructional design, or related field.Human Resources: The HR intern will provide support in areas such as recruitment, employee relations, talent management, inclusion, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organization development, and training. Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a major in human resources, organizational learning, psychology, business, or related field.Marketing: The Marketing intern will assist in the day-to-day tasks related to membership, advertising, social media, content-based marketing plans, digital promotions and projects aimed at increasing exposure of the SHRM brand. The intern will also facilitate tasks such as creative design requests, in-print and digital advertising, email campaigns and website monitoring. Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Marketing, or related field.Knowledge: The Knowledge Department intern will have an opportunity to work on both simple and complex member HR-related questions. The Knowledge Department receives over 60,000 inquiries through live chat, email, and/or phone calls each year. The intern will help the knowledge team with researching HR related issues and be part of the marketing efforts for the Certification department. Undergraduate, graduate, or a Ph.D. student pursuing a degree in human resources, economics, data science, industrial-organizational psychology, or related field.Technology: The Technology intern will assist with the support and maintenance of information technologies for SHRM and its affiliates. This intern will work on small tasks and larger projects that will offer exposure to various technical perspectives, technologies, and troubleshooting procedures. Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in MIS, IT, IS, or a technology related field.QualificationsEligibility, Preferred Skills and Attributes:

Enrolled in accredited undergraduate or graduate program at time of application

Minimum GPA of 3.0

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); able to quickly learn/use new software

Ability to complete short-term projects effectively as demonstrated through academic work and/or previous work/internship experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Able to take individual initiative while collaborating and contributing to teamwork

Genuinely inquisitive about SHRM’s work; demonstrated capacity for solving complex problems
