The successful candidate will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA.Primary Responsibilities:

Use network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs) and fiber power meters.

Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.

Dress, terminate and test cables and components

Ability to work with power tools and ladders

Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and perform routine maintenance

Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications systems

Identify, track, and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards

Communicate effectively across team of varying experience levels and with customer leadership

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Demonstrated experience in telecommunications

Cable Technician experience within the DoD

Certification in Fiber Optic Cable and CAT6 Cable Installation

Active Secret Clearance

Familiarity with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.

Ability to analyze and solve problems, with keen attention to detail
