AECOM is seeking a motivated Deputy Design Manager to support colocation and hyperscale data center projects from site due diligence and campus planning through design, construction documents, and construction administration. The ideal candidate has experience supporting project and design managers on data center projects within an A/E environment.This role supports coordination, documentation, and delivery of complex data center projects, with the expectation of increasing independence and the ability to serve as backup Design Manager.This position offers the flexibility of a remote work schedule and can be based from a variety of locations in the US were AECOM has an office.Although the position is primarily remote periodic travel may be required for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business‑critical activities. Travel is expected to be occasional and scheduled in advance.AECOM is a leader in the global data center consulting industry with robust teams in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our teams around the world on high-profile, fast-paced data center projects for global clients.  This is a hands-on, client-facing role with an opportunity for upward career mobility.  Project Coordination and Leadership SupportSupport the Design Manager in daily project coordination activities across disciplinesPrepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes, progressing toward independent ownershipCapture accurate technical notes during interdisciplinary meetings and coordinate with discipline leads to confirm accuracyAttend client and stakeholder meetings and track key decisions, risks, and action itemsProactively assist in tracking, managing, and communicating project changes internally and externallyGrow into serving as backup to the Design Manager when required
 Scheduling and CommunicationCoordinate internal and external design meetings using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and other client platformsTrack action items and follow up with internal teams to ensure timely resolutionDistribute client communications and internal updates to maintain alignmentDocumentation and Deliverables ManagementMaintain organized project documentation including RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions, and tracking logsUpdate spreadsheets, dashboards, trackers, and internal and external reporting toolsAssist with specification edits, data entry, and updates within internal reporting systemsDevelop innovative tracking mechanisms and proactively suggest process improvementsManage project files across SharePoint, MS Teams, Google Drive, and Box to ensure accessibility and accuracyEnsure QA and QC sets, daily prints, and deliverables are properly prepared and storedAssist in assembling and organizing final deliverables prior to submissionSupport Design and Project Managers in developing technical and financial proposals for new and add, move, change data center projects
