DescriptionAmazon is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our team as Fire Protection Design Manager. This person will play a pivotal role in design, facility, and engineering activities within Amazon's Fulfillment Network across North America (NA) and Latin America (LATAM), and partner with global teams in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The Fire Protection Design Manager will report directly to the North American Global Realty Engineering Manager. This role will be located in office with expected occasional travel.The Fire Protection Design Manager will manage fire protection templates, specifications, and drawings aimed at optimizing and enhancing the safety and efficiency of both existing and new facilities. Collaboration with various stakeholders will be essential to drive the development and management of fire protection design. The ideal candidate will have project and program management experience, practical knowledge of fire protection engineering, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technical environment while partnering with multiple stakeholders to implement cost-saving processes and programs.Key job responsibilitiesThe Fire Protection Design Manager will work on fire protection designs and standards across North America while tracking key metrics and performance, and function as consulting subject matter expert to stakeholders to enable business decisions. About the teamGlobal Realty Engineering (GRE) is the single-threaded leader and owner for the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Structural (MEPFS) engineering and Enterprise Building Management System (EBMS) standards for all Amazon operations building types. The team also drives sustainability partnerships and is the global leader for third party commissioning standards. The team provides subject matter expertise and design leadership across all regions, businesses, and functions to deliver scalable platform engineering, program development, program management, retrofit project management, template design criteria and template standards.Basic Qualifications

Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

3+ years experience working in Fire Protection Engineering and/or Design

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Experience in fire modeling, egress modeling, and smoke control systems, and the development of performance based designs.

Competent in NFPA30 designs with experience in the design and protection of storage rooms and buildings for hazardous materials.
