Guest Experience Specialists will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time) and taking a hands-on approach to work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping).   • Summary This position, located at the National Foreign Affairs Training Center (NFATC), is in the Business Technology Division, School of Applied Information Technology (SAIT), at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI). SAIT is responsible for all information technology (IT) development and training needs for employees of the Department of State, as well as employees of other Federal agencies. Responsibilities Serves as a technical expert in analyzing, evaluating, and resolving complex systems issues used in a wide range of technology courses and activities. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: NOTE: Experience in designing, developing, and evaluating courses and/or curriculum in an IT environment; Experience in applying IT systems for classroom, software, and hardware use; Experience in teaching IT professionals on hardware systems and software applications; Experience in providing guidance and appropriate resolution on a variety of IT issues for classroom use; and Experience in evaluating workstation and server hardware, operating systems OR application software to determine the most appropriate model or version to purchase. In order to qualify for this position, your experience MUST be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
