ABOUT THE ROLE

As a fast-growing multinational enterprise, Pixalate is seeking an experienced DC/ Metro-based Human Resources professional to lead our Human Resources department. This experienced Director will work with HR management to oversee, advise and implement all department operations while adhering to organizational policies and procedures. This role requires consistent communication between company executives and management to advise on best practices while ensuring compliance with all HR laws and regulations. This person will have experience in working with similar-sized organizations as this role will support the company in its acceleration of growth in a cost-effective and legally-compliant manner with management of all operations of the Human Resources department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements both within the US and Internationally

Provide consistent and efficient communication as well as compliant advisement on all HR operations with the CEO and CTO

Work closely and collaboratively with all HR department employees, contributors, other company department managers and executives to provide important updates, progression of relevant HR department happenings, discuss recent workplace incidents and/or any changes affecting employee population

Host and lead regular meetings, trainings and/or other necessary HR related items to maintain consistent communication and ensure compliance within company

Embody and emulate the culture and mission of the company

Policies and Procedures

Manage and maintain the Human Resource, Payroll and Benefit Information Systems

Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation

Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on all HR-related matters and issues

Create, maintain and update HR policies and Employee Handbook annually

Onboarding of new employees such as: ordering background checks, completing offer letter and assisting with gathering and input of electronic data and documentation

Offboarding employees such as: conduct termination meetings; prepare, review and ensure compliant and relevant paperwork and documentation is delivered; conduct exit interviews when applicable; input of electronic data and documentation to close out employee files

Benefits

Administer and manage employee benefit and pension programs in the US and Internationally

Process and handle all employee medical leave benefits, FMLA, workers compensation, STD, LTD, reasonable accommodation requests, etc.

Payroll

Obtain timely verification and approvals by Finance and CEO of all payroll related changes and processing

Administer US and International Payroll by all deadlines, including timely and accurate submission of employee status and/or salary changes

Talent Acquisition

Suggest, develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies, policies, and programs to attract, retain, and engage diverse, top talent.

Manage and oversee Recruitment Life cycle with HR Manager, collaborators, managers and executives including: reviewing resumes, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews and arranging next steps

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field from an accredited university

Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in relevant Human Resources Director-level work, including familiarity with employment regulations and standard HR practices

HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR) preferred

Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. state and federal and International laws and governmental compliance requirements, current principles and best practices of human resources management

Excellent communication skills; detail oriented; self-starter; and, ability to work independently.

Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously

Demonstrated experience serving as a culture driver and resource for a growing staff

A team player who is highly collaborative and operates with a pro-active, solutions-oriented mindset
