We are seeking a Facilities Program Analyst to join our talented team of consultants.The Engineer will provide support to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) AFCAT Program. The programs goal is to improve the DLA Aviations ability to rapidly procure high quality supply items that contain Cast/Forged components (C/Fs). This position is located in Richmond, VA.The Engineer will primarily be responsible forgathering data on C/Fs to improve contract procurement packages.updating NIINs in the CandF database in the Value Engineering Savings Tracking and Reporting Applications System (VESTARS) and for the maintenance and backup of these data repositories. Additionally, the Engineer will be responsible for creating, revising, and monitoring work projects and savings projects in VESTARSResponsibilities include:
Conduct NIIN Analysis by collecting, screening, and analyzing data from various data sources including Haystack; Non-Ferrous Founders Society casting databases; Technical data packages; various drawings, specifications, and standards; Casting and Forging Manufacturers lists; CandF Database; EBS-IDS; EDW; JEDMICS; MBDT; and DOD FED Mall.
Update fields in the CandF database in VESTARS, with all entries keyed to a unique NIIN. Field entries include items such as NIIN (primary key), Confirmation, Notes, Verification Notes, Assembly Required, Alternate Material or Method, FLIS part number, CAGE, Measurements Max, Mid, and Min, Cast of Forge Part Number (PN), Material, Method, Sources, etc.
Use the CandF database and create, update, and revise basic working-level databases that support AFCAT.
Maintain various tables and backup copies needed to support AFCAT data requirements.
Provide feedback to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of NIINs review process, identify new data sources and opportunities to improve logistics.
Perform non-routine tasks as needed such as replying to C/Fs assistance requests seeking tooling sources or supply; reviewing procurement data; resolving production issues that affect logistics and procurement lead time; and sharing lessons learned during technology transfer events
3+ years of
of Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering experience, preferably at an industrial facility or where aerospace material specifications were required.
BS in Engineering at ABET Accredited College
US Citizenship required
