DescriptionWe are seeking a stellar Sr. Risk Specialist to join the Global Service Compliance (GSC) team supporting Amazon’s Project Kuiper. Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.Export Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Key job responsibilitiesWorking closely with the business, legal, tax, accounting, and other teams, you will develop out-of-this-world strategies for handling compliance obligations in creative, business-centric ways that allow Kuiper to move quickly. As a Senior Risk Specialist for Kuiper GSC, you will support research, writing, and review of policy and procedure documentation demonstrating Kuiper’s compliance with its global ISP obligations.We are looking for someone who takes a proactive role in deep-diving into documents and demonstrates strong analytical thinking who can work across teams to identify gaps in policies, processes, and tools and develop strategies to eliminate gaps and mitigate risk. You will be capable of transforming complex statutory language into clear easy to understand language for a diverse audience of stakeholders. You are right a lot, work efficiently both independently and with teammates, and routinely deliver results on time.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Arlington, VA, USA | Bellevue, WA, USABasic Qualifications

4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Experience handling confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials

Experience with SQL and Excel

The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market.   • Summary The position is located in the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations, Office of the Executive Director (EX), Human Resource Management Division (OBO/EX/HR). You will serve as a Branch Chief of the Programs Branch responsible for the management, oversight, and delivery of a broad range of Human Resources Management (HRM) services to employees, supervisors, and managers of the Bureau. Plans and/or conducts analyses of the specific HRM needs of the Bureau ensuring services delivered are specially tailored to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law, regulations, and policy. Establishes internal management controls to ensure compliance in accordance with Bureau and Departmental HR initiatives, objectives and goals. Defines overall policies, practices, and work priorities to a staff comprised of Civil Service (CS), Foreign Service (FS) and Personal Services Contractors (PSCs). Administers and oversees HR programs to include but not limited to Employee Relations, Performance Management, and Federal Incentive Awards while adhering to and enforcing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles and practices. Experience providing Labor Management Employee Relations (LMER) advisory services to managers in support of meeting federal HRM program requirements and compliancy to include labor relations, employee relations, performance management, misconduct, and disciplinary action(s).
