The Red River Managed Services ELP Team is seeking an experienced cloud engineer to join our world class team, immediately contributing to novel cloud solutions for existing programs, research and development initiatives and new customers. Your day-to-day will involve:
Direct customer support, occasionally on-site within the Washington Metro Area,
Support to new business opportunities with your technical expertise and problem solving,
Assisting in developing technical requirements for projects, ROMs, and proposals,
Driving and contributing to weekly sprint planning and reviews for engineering projects
Working collaboratively with our engineering team and business operations team to troubleshoot customer issues, develop new capabilities and support ongoing efforts
Leveraging your professional network toward new business growth
Continue demonstrating and expanding your knowledge in the cloud discipline and with emerging technologies
You bring a solid technical foundation in at least one major cloud provider (AWS or Azure preferred), in infrastructure, services or development and a strong desire to deliver efficient solutions. You are comfortable with customer interaction and possess the diplomacy to assist them with refining or defining requirements, troubleshooting technology issues and developing unique work arounds for a variety of operational environments. This position reports directly to the Program Director and requires excellent and proactive communication skills. A successful candidate brings a detail-oriented mindset, the ability to work autonomously, a proactive approach to team success and a passion for technical problem-solving.As a Cloud Engineer, you will:
Drive collaboration across the engineering team, engaging and leading junior engineers in support of customer and research projects
Maintain or seek technical and/or cloud certifications to further customer support
Represent Red River capabilities at customer meetings and technical exchanges, offering potential solutions and identifying capabilities to support their missions
Support Program Managers in maintaining, designing, and developing technical solutions
Assist in technical content and solutions for RFQ, RFP, ROM and proposal responses
Work collaboratively across program, Red River internal resources and sub contractors to drive performance and meet customer requirements.
Bring an understanding of Cloud Services and Capabilities to help drive Cloud Cost Optimization for the program.
Analyzes and defines business requirements to determine specifications and standards; proposes and develops solutions.
Understand customer compliance and security requirements, and recommend improvements and cost savings where possible.
Stays informed of emerging cloud technologies and evaluates their value to the organization’s operations.
Other business duties as assigned.
A Cloud Engineer at Red River is expected to have:
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical degree, or combination of equivalent practical experience and technical certifications.
Experience with commercial cloud concepts and offerings (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle, etc). (Required)
Minimum of 5 years of experience with designing, deploying and maintaining cloud infrastructure for production environments, or equivalent technical experience
Strong experience in Agile Methodologies or Scrum master experience (desired)
(desired) Experience in languages and frameworks such as Javascript, React, Node.js, Angular, Go, C# and ASP.NET
Terraform experience (preferred)
Experience with Cyber Security best practices, methods and tools (preferred)
Active TS/SCI Clearance (required)
Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph (preferred)
A successful Cloud Engineer will:
Handle complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
Bring the strong ability to multi-task and actively self-direct daily tasking, ensuring program management and stakeholders maintain situational awareness.
Be proficient with Office 365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio, and experience with collaboration tools such as Teams and/or WebEx.
Possess a strong technical aptitude, planning and strategic thinking, a risk management mindset, adaptability, and time management.
Bring effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups.
Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, consultation and organizational skills. Performs work under minimal supervision.
Essential Elements (Mental; Physical; Equipment used):This position is an office position that requires remaining in a stationary position for multiple hours throughout the workday.This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.Basic Qualifications:
