Financial Aid Representative

Description We are seeking a Contract-to-Hire Financial Aid Representative to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia. This role involves supporting students via various communication channels, assisting with inquiries related to university policies and procedures, and handling financial aid matters. This position is a short term contract opportunity.Responsibilities: Provide assistance to students through inbound and outbound phone calls and emails to answer common questions about university policies, procedures, and payment methods. Assist in navigating financing options, university policy, and other payment-related topics for students. Work closely with Financial Aid Advisors in day-to-day activities to support students. Manage outbound student outreach alongside handling inbound requests to manage queue volume. Be an active participant in team discussions, coaching sessions, and provide constructive feedback to management. Update and maintain student records in conjunction with Financial Aid Advisors. Collaborate with the Financial Aid Support Team to identify trends and root causes of issues related to student needs. Process payments and work with Financial Aid Advisors to update student records accurately. Exhibit a strong understanding of University systems, University Policy, and Federal Financial Aid regulations. Use self-service reporting and tools to monitor and share data. Handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly. Prioritize the needs of the students and commitment to providing an excellent student experience. Foster a positive working environment and develop trust among team members.Requirements Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel Previous experience in a Call Center Customer Service role Strong customer service skills Ability to type at speeds of 45 - 60 WPM or over 60 WPM Experience in Typing Data Entry Capable of answering a multi-line phone system Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of financial aid processes and procedures would be advantageous High school diploma or equivalent; higher education or certification in relevant fields preferred Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest degree of professional standards Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
