This role ensures that procurement activities align with corporate policies, procedures, and compliance with applicable Government laws and regulations.The Manager is responsible for overseeing non-direct procurement activities, category management, under 10K procurements, and ensuring the efficient execution of contracts, purchase orders, and supplier agreements. Additionally, the role requires strong leadership in managing and developing the sourcing team, ensuring their ability to meet operational demands and solve problems effectively.Responsibilities

Business Engagement

Work closely with internal stakeholders to address procurement-related challenges, resolve escalations, and facilitate smooth communication across teams.

Engage with senior management to provide updates on team performance, procurement challenges, and solutions, ensuring alignment on operational priorities.

Coordinate with other departments to streamline procurement processes, reduce bottlenecks, and respond quickly to evolving business needs.

Team Leadership & Development

Directly manage and support a team of strategic sourcing professionals, providing day-to-day guidance, workload prioritization, and troubleshooting assistance.

Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, encouraging problem-solving, accountability, and operational efficiency.

Monitor team performance and provide continuous feedback, mentoring, and development opportunities to ensure high levels of employee engagement and effectiveness.

Implement training programs and development initiatives to enhance the team's skills in handling procurement challenges and navigating complex supplier relationships.

Category Management

Lead category management efforts, ensuring that procurement strategies are aligned with organizational goals for key categories of goods and services.

Develop and implement category plans to optimize supplier performance, cost management, and value creation across the organization.

Identify opportunities for category consolidation, supplier rationalization, and process improvements to drive operational efficiencies.

Foster relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains and quick resolution of any problems or disputes that arise.

Risk Management & Compliance:

Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies, Government regulations, and legal standards, including proper documentation and reporting.

Monitor procurement activities to ensure team’s adherence to risk management practices, resolving any compliance issues swiftly and efficiently.

Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; nine years of work experience in procurement, subcontracting or procurement compliance; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in a relevant area.

One year of management experience or three years of team lead experience.
